For clients completing their care and treatment program or who simply need extended long term care without direct staff supervision, the agency maintains off campus apartments (must be within six blocks of the main Houston campus) where clients live but come to the agency for meals, social activities and medication supervision.
Many of these clients are also participants in former programs:
- Continued counseling for those in treatment
- Continued assistance in work preparation for those formerly in life skills
- Continued participation in the socialization programs for those previously in Adults in Transition
Clients in Independent Living pay a fee based on the actual services they receive, including housekeeping, meals, work program participation, etc. There is no additional fee for this group for the socialization and cognitive groups provided by the agency. Medication management is provided to all levels of care in any program component, including Independent Living.
