Now accepting out-patient applications for CET. What is CET at the Mental Health Co-op?
Cognitive Enhancement Therapy (CET) is an evidenced-based practice developed by Samuel M. Flesher, Ph. D. and field tested in Cleveland Ohio beginning in 2000.
CET helps people with schizophrenia and other related cognitive disorders such as bipolar disorder, major depression and high-level autism improve their processing speed, cognition (attention, memory, and problem solving), and social cognition (the ability to interact wisely with others). * CET training consists of 1 (2 – 3) hour session once per week for a total of 48 weeks. Clients will form a cohort for the entire CET course.
* Currently, the Mental Health Co-op in Houston is the only certified training site in Houston, Texas.
